Turning Toward Anxiety

A piece on standing outside the shadows — on the confusion of things that stay just out of reach, the way anxiety fills the space where certainty should be. It turns toward the condition as a problem of proximity and clarity: the threat that is always near but never quite in focus. In keeping with the series it opens with crisis resources and marks the seam between lived, observed, and studied knowledge. It is among the more phenomenological entries in the Turning Toward sequence, attending closely to what anxiety actually feels like from inside, and to the particular exhaustion of bracing for what will not resolve.
